Volunteer Training

Our volunteers really are the very heart of our charity.  We are thankful to have such an amazing volunteer family who provide bereavement support to children and their families throughout Cornwall.

We always welcome enquiries regarding volunteering. Many people wish to volunteer through their own interest or personal experience or from having heard about us through friends, schools and colleges, other organisations, social media feeds or from other community groups.

Coming on board as a volunteer will usually start with some initial volunteer training:

Step 1: Get Started

The first step to volunteering with us is to enrol on our free one day ‘Get Started’ Volunteer training.  This is a great introduction to our charity and gives an overview of our charity with an insight in to volunteering roles and options for getting involved whether it be to fundraise and support community events or to help with our Family Services.

Step 2: Get Going

Once you have completed ‘Get Started’ training you have the option to join the ‘Get Going’ two-day training to enable you to help with family support if desired such as helping with Memory Days, Family Groups, Teens Groups etc.

We have various’ Get Started’ and ‘Get Going’ training days scheduled in different areas of the county on a regular basis. Please get in touch with our Volunteer and Events Coordinator, Natalie, to find out about upcoming dates and locations to book your place on the training. You can speak to Natalie by telephone on 01209 215889 or contact her by email.

We also have professional training courses aimed at people who may come into contact with bereaved children through their work, or for those wanting to specifically volunteer and support children and young people with one-to-one support.  You can find more details and how to book here.
