Portloe Gin and Crack a Crab

Portloe Gin and Crack a Crab
Sunday 8th July, 3pm to 7pm

The John Casson Foundation fundraising day in Portloe this year is in aid of Penhaligon’s Friends.

On the afternoon of Sunday 8th July between 3pm and 8pm the foundation will be launching
Portloe’s own limited edition gin at a Crack-a-Crab event in the garden at the village’s Ship Inn. In the
event of inclement weather we will be in the pub.

The gin will be distilled on the back of a 1970’s VW in the pub car park starting around 9am ready for
the afternoon, yes really!

Portloe gin will go well with seafood and is described as smooth, citrusy, dry with a hint of spice and
an aromatic nose.

If you pre order before the 8th June it is £35 for a 75cl bottle, while on the day it will be £40 a bottle.
For pre orders you will be entered into a draw, one ticket per bottle and the winner will receive
limited edition Portloe gin bottle number 1 out of 140 as well as a photograph receiving it next to
the distillery.

From 3pm to 7pm you can ‘Crack-a-Crab’ thanks to the generosity of Portloe’s Hannah Clark, Camel
Fish Limited. On offer are crab legs, with salad and Da Barra bread. A limited food menu will be
available for those who would prefer something different.

Portloe gin is available to accompany your meal at £6.50 for a small measure including Fever Tree
tonic.
The Crack-a-Crab is £12.50 if pre ordered, £15 on the day.
There will be delicious desserts at £5 each.

To make the afternoon complete we have live music from 3pm to 7pm courtesy of Melange who
have offered to give their time to support this fundraising event in aid of Penhaligon’s Friends.

To book or for further information please contact: johncasson@johncasson.com

This will be a fun day for everyone with all profits going to Penhaligon’s Friends. Our thanks to Mark
Swannel for letting the John Casson Foundation organise this at The Ship Inn.
