How you can help to support your child when someone in the family has a serious illness

Either you or someone in your family may be facing life with a serious or life limiting illness.

At a time when everything seems uncertain and nothing feels the same this a challenge that can be daunting. This information is intended to give you some practical help immediately and offers some signposts to other help available.

We can offer support through Penhaligon's Friends and would be pleased to receive your enquiries either by e-mail from this site or by telephone. This may be a time of mixed emotiions and heightened anxiety and dealing with telling children may be the last thing you feel like doing. The information will help you understand the importance of involving children and give some useful suggestions about how to do that.

Its only a simple guide and we can answer your questions more fully if you would like to talk to us or visit you and your family at home.
